  1. why can't I enter in the address anymore? It only gives me longitude and latitude coordinate options.

Why did you guys get rid of entering the address option? I can no longer type in an address and map it out. It only give me the option to put in the coordinates.

  2. Can't Choose a Location?

I can't enter a city or address? Completely wacky. One of those things, where a bunch of presumably smart people are working on something... Another option would be just to make everyone look at NYC, no matter where in the world they are, or what map they want. Just force NYC maps on everyone. But then again, that's what you're already doing.

  3. PLEASE BRING BACK THE SEARCH LOCATION FUNCTION

I use this function almost daily. Losing this functionality makes searching for a place very cumbersome Please bring it back.

    Hi,

Sorry for the delay, we’ve been testing out the latest versions to make sure there were no breaking changes. We have updated to Google Maps 3.31 for all maps. You should no longer see any retired version warnings.

    Thanks!

I saw that your plugin has been getting flagged as having an XSS bug. Do you have a release scheduled to fix that?

    Hi,

We released a new version of our plugin on August 1st that fixed all security issues and passed all of WordPress’s checks and was approved and listed on their plugin site again.

Please update to version 1.1.5 and you will have everything you need.

    Thanks!

  6. Referencing for a student assignment

I am an urban design student and would like to use a figure-ground diagram created by user Teodor in an assignment. However, I'm not sure how to reference it and credit the creator correctly. Any ideas?

  7. API reference code for each map

If there was a reference ID for each map then Developers could let their User Base choose their own custom map colour schemes. By providing the ID a web Application could grab the JSON object of Map Data directly from Snazzy Maps and add it to the User Profile's Data collection.

This reduces the possibility of a Malicious injection by providing a trusted source of Map Data AND further cements Snazzy Maps as a de facto standard for Map Styles

    Hi,

You can change the default center of the map with step 2 in the side panel called “Size & Location”. You can search for a location that you’d like to center at and then click “Apply Changes”. The map on your site should be updated with the new map center.

    Hopefully that helps you out.

  9. Please fix the bug that had been going on.

When you hit the arrow the close the left side menu bar of any map, it does not then show the rest of the right side of the map. What part of the map that should have been exposed by closing the side bar is blocked by an empty box and will not allow you to fully expand. Please fix this.

    Hi,

Thanks for letting us know about your issue. You’re right, it looks like the map wasn’t resizing correctly.

I’ve fixed the issue and have released a new version of the site. The map should now resize correctly when collapsing the side menu. Let me know how it works for you now.

    Thanks again!

  12. An option to change the font size and style

Firstly, great work on this! I love it!
I really need an option to edit the size and style of the font, i'm creating some static maps for elderly people and they are unable to see the street names at the current size,
    Is something like that possible?
    Thanks

    Hi,

Google doesn’t have support for increasing the font size of text on their map. The best you could do is to increase the browser zoom level or maybe use the CSS “zoom” property.

Let me know if these work for you or if you find another workaround.

  13. Is snazzy maps against google terms?

Is snazzy maps against google terms?

Part of permissions I'm thinking of:
For example, Google My Maps lets you draw lines and shapes on a Google map. We also offer a Styled Maps API that allows you to edit the colors of individual map components (for example, changing water to purple), as well as toggle visibility for each component (for example, making roads invisible).

    Hi,

Snazzy Maps is definitely not against Google’s terms of use. In fact, we use a feature supplied by Google in order to style their maps. Everything is done through Google’s API, using their styled maps feature. We have also been in contact with the Google Maps team and they really like what we are doing with our site, so no worries!

Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks,

    Hey,

Sorry about that. We’ve been dealing with this same spammer for a while now. We are working on ways to stop it in the future but for now I just removed all those useless styles. Thanks for letting us know.

  15. Change default location, zoom, and extents

It would be great if you could set and save the default location that the map is being used for.

Use case: I'm styling something specifically around Sydney, and have to zoom out out out and the in in in =)

  17. Fix problems saving API key?

Installed SM plugin on a WordPress 4.1.1 site. If I try to save styles or enter an API key, I get a PHP error:

  18. Ability to delete styles

I can't for the life of me find where to delete one of my styles. I have a bunch that I've made and some are duplicates of ones I've tweaked, and I want to remove them but I can't find a delete/remove function anywhere.

You can now delete one of your styles from the editor. First click “Edit” on one of your styles. The “Delete” icon (a trash can) will be located in the toolbar of the editor.

  19. Full screen map demos

I love your product, its a quick way to develop uniquely styled google maps. For me it would be really helpful to have a full screen map demo so i can quickly find a stylised map, screen grab a large area to use in my design mockups and get client approval before proceeding to code.
